Match review by Waltz
Maestro chalked up their first win against New Eastroids 2:1 in a thrilling match.
4 of the Bee's Vice-captain's friends played their league match debut with 2 of them scoring to give MFC a boost in their Divison 3 quest. New Eastroids was no push over, having won Divison 4 last season on a high. Much respect was given to them prior and during the game as the Bees knew they it wasnt going to be an easy game.
MFC got off to a flying start and were trying to break the deadlock as early as the first 5mins of the game. However it took 15-20mins in the first half before Dino scored from close range with great confidence. Rong An's effort from outside the penalty box wasn't well deal with by their keeper. Karthik pounced onto the ball with a follow up shot but couldn't get a clean strike. The ball then fell to Dino who hammered it in from close range to the top half of the goal to make it 1-0. Nice!
In the 2nd half, New Eastroids got their tactics right and were attacking MFC from the flanks. Their efforts were soon paid off with a good finish from their striker. 1:1 was the score.
Both teams were starting to slow down their play due to the hot weather. The opponents looked dangerous everytime they went into the bee's half. Abi's slight challenge later brought down one of their player and the referee awarded the opponents a penalty. This was a crucial moment as both team were desperately trying to seal the 3 points before the final whistle. No 7 striker took the penalty shortly but couldn't defeat Calvin. He guessed it correctly once more and it proved vital in keeping the game alive. 1:1 it remained until the final 15mins of the game when a well taken freekick by Nizam make it 2:1 to MFC. The bees rejoiced at the final whistle and we are starting to "bee"lieve we can do the impossible. keep buzzing Bees!
