Weakened Maestro outplayed by Young Paladins.

Match Highlights by GX
Maestro FC 2 : 4 Paladins (GX, Chris)

1. MFC failed to adapt to the rain and slightly waterlogged pitch. Paladins settled down fast and raced into a one goal lead with a lobbing effort.

2. First half team (from defense to offense): Calvin, Walter, Chris, GX, Lil Eric, Gerald, Yangde, August, Abhi, Kartik.

3. Maestro had the chance the equalized midway through the first half when referee spotted a handball by Paladin following a corner. Kartik skied the ball over.

4. Paladin scored another just before half time, when a shot took a deflection off GX and bounced into goal.

 5. Could have been 3-0 to Paladin, when referee awarded a penalty to Paladin following a handball by GX who was sitting on the pitch after attempting a clearance.Keeper Calvin once again guessed the correct way and even managed to save the rebound

6. 2-0 at half time. Maestro, the comeback kings, certainly felt that they could come back as Paladin won't exactly a strong team and the goals conceded were unlucky.

7. As MFC intention is to go for an early second half goal, only Gerald was fielded as the only DM. Second half team: Calvin, Walter, Chris, Ridwan, Yazid, Gerald, Kartik, Abhi, GX, Jinde, Dino.

8. MFC was dealt another blow when a well taken free kick made it 3-0 (something like Rooney's goal against Palace) for Paladin.

9. A counter attack saw Kartik played a diagonal pass to Jinde who did well to square the ball for GX to tap it in. 3-1.

10. MFC never look like staging a comeback as they struggled with keeping possession on a wet pitch. The speedy Paladin forwards were giving MFC all sorts of problems as Maestro left big gaps behind in search of a second goal.

11. Paladin scored their fourth which probably killed the game following a solo effort by their No. 9.

12. Maestro scored a consolation goal following a header from Chris. It was another assist by Jinde, who played a good free kick from the right after Kartik was fouled just outside the penalty area.

13. It may have been an exciting finish when GX shot took a deflection off a Paladin defender and fell nicely for Dino to make it 4-3. However, the young and unsure linesman chose to put his flag up for an offside after the ball was in the net for 5 seconds. He was so unsure that even the referee had to run over and check with him.

14. There was even an incident at the end when Ridwan fell a Paladin player with a heavy challenge. The player attempted a punch at Ridwan and was very lucky that the referee chose to only give him a yellow card.

15. Match ended 4-2 in favour of Paladin, who were a young team and full of energy. However, their defense is abit suspect and with our regular attacking players and a dry pitch, the result may have been different.
