Match Review by Jeffery
With a perfect start to the new campaign under captain Guo Xian and Vice captain Norris, things were looking good for The Bees . Morale was high after the first win in the previous week as the Bees take on The Black Fighters for the second pre-season friendly game . Captain Guo Xian was unavailable for the game making Norris the person in charge.
Having been warned about the opponent's main player and his resemblance to Andy Carroll not only with his frame but his playing style , MFC started the game with the usual 4-5-1 . Playing cautiously with the defence keeping an eye on their star man MFC started well in the first half with Hakim running the midfield along with Gerald . However , against the run of play , they opened the scoring with a well taken goal from their number 9. The defenders failing to track the run of their striker allowing him to go 1 on 1 with Gary and putting the ball in the back of the net with a calm finish . MFC stepped up their game after the first goal with more attacking display coming through the flanks and set plays . MFC conceded a controversial penalty with Alywin trying to shield the ball for the on coming Gary to scoop it up . The opponent fell and a penalty was given. Gary however was our hero as he put up a premier league standard penalty save forcing the ball out for a corner. Our equaliser came when their defenders failed to clear a cross allowing the ball to bounce and winger Jeffrey volleying the ball to the roof of the net . The first half ended with the score 1-1 .
With a second successive win on their mind , MFC started off the second half with more confidence and playing higher in their opponents half . The Black Fighters clearly not ready for the second half as their back line was unable to clear a high ball letting it drop to Jeremy who took the shot and forcing an early save from their keeper . It was all MFC from there as the opponent conceded many corners and MFC failing to convert any of their chances. MFC however, conceded a freak goal and the opponent took the lead midway through the second half as their number 9 picked up the ball and charged towards MFC's goal . He dribbled pass 3 defenders using his unequaled power down the left flank and shot from near the corner flag with the ball going out of the field of play and into the back of the net through a cut in the side netting . The goal stood however as the referee was unable to see clearly what happened. MFC pushed for a late equaliser bombing forward to get the goal . During extra time , The Black Fighters conceded a penalty under former captain Walter when he was trying to dribble pass their man . Hakim stepped up and took the penalty calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left corner .
The game ended with the scoreline of 2-2.
