A morale boosting win before xleague resumes!

Maestro FC 6 : 1 Victory Sabers (August, Kartik, Yang Shan, Guo Xian, Hakim, Norris)
Match Review by Aylwin

Another day of soccer at Broadrick Secondary school  for the Maestro FC Warriors. Today is an exceptional hot day but with thunder clouds lurking nearby. Without any fear for the lightning, MFC carried out an excellent match to beat the opponents. Although most of the players looks built, but nonetheless, we manage to show whose the boss. The game started with everyone playing at a slow pace. Passes were good and everyone was playing their position with pace. Some excellent passes were executed and August manage to tap in one of the crosses that came into the opponents empty box. With one goals ahead, no complacency was shown and we fight on to get a second goal form Yangshan which executed a just in time volley into the back to the opponents net.  The third goal came quickly before the half time whistle blew, when our strikers and wingers took the opportunity of a counter attack and executed some wonderful passes in between the opponent defense and our finisher Guo Xian just placed the ball directly at the top right corner of the goal. No chances was given to the keeper at all.

The Second half started with our side leading 3-0 in a high morale. The opponents on the other hand were starting to get physical with our team. Many fouls were committed on our players that were intentional and we have to play a very safe game for the safety of our players. The fourth goal came in the middle of the second half where Norris got the ball in the middle of 2 defenders which were slacking. He hold the ball in his feet for a few minutes before deciding to take a shot at the goal. Although the ball rolled very slowly towards the goal, but the angle was too wide for the keeper to react to the ball. Lastly we manage to get our last goal from a splendid free kick from Kartik which curl the ball taken out of a free kick. The ball floated into the top left corner of the net taking the keeper by surprise. We thought we have sealed the game with 5 goals on our side and there is only two minutes left on the clock. However a last min consolation penalty that should not have been given to the opponent ended the game in 6-1.

Overall, MFC put up an excellent performance today. Though it’s just a friendly today, we have proved ourselves to be a better team. Let’s keep up the winning streak!
