MAESTRO WINNING STREAK CONTINUES

Maestro FC 3 : 0 China FC (Chris, RongAn x2)
Match Review by Brian

With another league game being postponed, can Maestro FC continue to keep up with their winning ways and maintain their shape?  China FC had made several changes which include their all-blue jerseys and new faces in their line-up.  Maestro had won the previous encounter 2-0.

Maestro FC had 16 talented players available for selection and our Captain decided to ditch the usual  4-5-1 to a tradition 4-4-2. Calvin started in goal and was guarded by Kartik, Chris, Norris and Walter. Midfield engine room were marshalled by Hakim, Jonathan, Gerald and Joel. Alan and Rong An spearheaded Maestro. Maestro continued their fluent passing game and was largely dominating the whole game, but couldn’t find any shots on target. Midway through the 1st half, a goal was finally produced with great passing play from defence to strikers and coolly finished by Chris.  Maestro could have gone 2-0 up if Alan was able to score a sitter. The 1st half ended 1-0.

Brian, Abhi and Alwyn were the notable changes in the 2nd half line-up. Maestro continued to pile pressure on China FC with fluid passing play. Hakim was the engineer of many Maestro setup plays and Alan was proving to be a thorn in China FC defence. Maestro began to slow down their pace and was almost punished by a header from a corner by China FC. Maestro’s 2nd goal finally came. Rong An received a pass from Alwyn and battered through the “Great Wall of China” and lashed a powerful shot beyond China FC’s goalkeeper. Noticing China FC getting lethargic, Maestro gave them the final stung. Maestro’s engineer, Hakim, produced a superb pass from the right and was neatly finished by Rong An.

Maestro changed their tactics and began to play more possessively making China FC running around like headless chickens. The referee blew the final whistle to end their torment. Can Maestro continue to make a hat-trick of wins next week?

Good points:

·         Passing play was fluent

·         Alan’s revelation as a supporting striker

·         Consecutive 3 clean sheets

·         Ball lost recovery has improved

Things to improve on:

·         Complacency stepped in when only having 1-0 lead

·         Midfielders not getting enough shots outside the penalty box
