Hi Maestros!
The past three months have been excellent, with Maestro currently on a 10 match unbeaten run. Since early Sep 2011, Maestro only suffered 2 defeats, with many outstanding performances from many players. Who could forget Rong An's brace against K1K FU, Chris's goal exploits in the earlier games and outstanding saves from Gary and Randahl?
In the spirit of honoring good players who have performed well, in terms of gameplay and contribution towards the team, its time to recognize one outstanding player who did well over the past quarter. Walter and myself have observed the Maestro players and drawn up a three outstanding nominees for this award.
The Player of the Quarter Nominees:
Eric Ng
After his earlier hiatus from Maestro, Eric's return to the team coincided with a better defensive record and it was no surprise. His talent and skills have never been in question; he even showed glimpses of "Phil Jones" when he excelled in the central midfield and striker position, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the first X League match. Beyond his skills, what makes him outstanding is his commitment to the team. Eric is ever punctual and always among the first to reply to match attendance. Whenever called upon, Eric is very reliable and obliging at the same time, as shown through his contribution to write the match review or fulfil personal favors for the team.
Augustine Zhou
As a financial adviser, Augustine counts on reliability as his key strength. Augustine's reliability led to him being entrusted by Walter and Gerald to be the Fitness IC and more recently Finance IC for the team. Just like Eric, Augustine has always been early for all the matches he attended and contributed well written match reviews. He is also ever present, attending almost all the matches to date. Skills wise, Augustine has the knack of making important contributions from the left flank with three goals and a few other assists to date. Remember the excellent back pass to Hakim for the first goal against Vipers?
Paul Liang
After a slow start to Maestro, Paul has slowly established himself in the central midfield position. He has shown significant improvements in terms of passing and ball control and the main reason for this was because of his willingness to come early for every match to practice on his own and ask others for tips on how to improve. Although there is more room for improvement, his humble attitude and determination to improve will surely get him there. Contribution wise, Paul willingly wrote a match review even though his command of english was weaker than most of the players. His passion and enthusiasm for the game is very evident, as he turned up for almost every Maestro game.
The Player of the Quarter will be decided by SMS hence all Maestros please send your nominated Player of the Quarter to my handphone at 9817 7390 before 23 Nov 2011 (Wed).
Thank you!
