Before the match kicked off, There was a heavy rain. We had to move our bags to the shelter. But there were no lightning alert from Queensway Secondary school. We did a team to team handshake with Vipers. After which, one or two Maestro players were asking the subs for shin pads due to the rules and regulation of Xleague.
The match kicked off with Randahl playing keeper. Brian and Alan as center backs. Hakim as left and Walter as right back. The center midfielders were Gerald, Gifford and Chris. Right mid was Kartik and Left mid was Augustine. The striker was Big Eric. Later on Gifford changed with Big Eric. We were playing a 4-5-1 formation.
The match went well for us in defence and attack. The referee made some good calls too. Brian and Alan made sure there were no loopholes in the defence. Whenever there is a high ball coming towards the defence, both of them never hesitated to head the ball away.
There was this inspiring play between Hakim and Augustine. Hakim passed to Augustine on the left flank, and Augustine did a panna to return to the running hakim. Most of the Vipers defence thought they were anticipating a well-given cross to Big Eric. Never did they know they were about to concede a goal. Hakim broke the deadlock with a well taken Shot in to bottom corner. Well Done Hakim!! Augustine was changed with Abi. And Gerald changed with Paul.
The referee Whistled for the end of first half. Walter made a change in the defence and the attack. As we all know, A team can only do 3subs in the first and second half. And we can change the whole team at Half time. So Walter Substituted Chris with Lil Eric. Augustine with Aylwin. Kartik with Jonathan. Gifford with Jason.
In the second half, Maestro defence conceded a goal. The Vipers’ left mid lobbed our goalkeeper. But we did not look down. Walter and Gerald was shouting “Heads up Guys”. We did the kickoff, chris passed to Big Eric, Big Eric Gave through ball to Jason, Jason was 1-on-1 with the keeper. He did a outside foot shot, which was slowly moving past the keeper to the net. Well Done Jason!!
Midway through the second half, there was a corner for Vipers. The striker headed the ball, but it was saved by Randhal. What a save!! But there was a catastrophe. Lil Eric wanted to clear but intentionally he cleared into our goal. But we still did not keep our heads down. We gave our full and maximum energy to get a winner.
After a goal kick from Alan, the vipers defender headed the ball away to Big Eric. The ball was still bouncing, and he volleyed the ball home to the top corner. We celebrated and was waiting for the final whistle. Until the equalizer from Vipers.
In late second half, Nikesh, Chris and Abi. We went on attacking but to no avail. After the full time whistle came. Gerald and Walter said ‘Good Game Maestro”. The Game ended 3-3.
