Final Score: MFC 1 : 4 SWAT FC (20 minutes)
Final Score MFC 0 : 7 James Cook University
The omen was right there from the start. For the league match continuation with SWAT FC, only a handful of MFC players turned up to try to over turn the 3 goal deficit. In fact, MFC could have won the game as SWAT FC fielded a weakened team but sadly, MFC was crippled by the lack of players and even had to borrow players from other teams. The remaining 20 mins was played out to a credible goalless draw and SWAT FC walked away with all 3 points in the bag with MFC hardly testing them.
The second match with James Cook University fared no better. Only 6-7 MFC players remained in the team, with the rest being made up of several Vietnamese players. James Cook on the other hand took the game seriously; they brought enough players to field 2 teams! RIght from the start, James Cook set MFC in their place and ran MFC ragged to the ground.
In the second half, some MFC players left, leaving behind 4 players: Calvin, Kartik, Augustine, Jonathan to shoulder MFC's reputation. This writer's late cameo with 10 minutes to go was too little too late as James Cook was already leading 7 : 0 by then. The final whistle soon came, ending the misery and shame for the 5 MFC players.
During a post match discussion, the 5 players shared their disappointment at having to suffer such a humiliating defeat without the support of the full team and they wondered why were the 2 matches (SWAT FC & James Cook University) organized despite the obvious lack of players. The feedback to both Captain and Vice Captain of MFC is to organize matches in future only when there are sufficient players. The census is that today's matches could have been postponed to next week or the week after when the attendance is better.
High Points
1) The weather today was good, no rain and plenty of sun!
Low Points
1) Not enough MFC players turning out despite Captain Eric's best efforts to organize the match
2) Humilating loss for the 5 MFC players who ran their hearts out but due to lack of MFC players, had to rely on vietnamese players.
3) No photos
