This weekend's opponent is no stranger to most of the bees. Having played against them during those days at Katong. They call themselves 'USSR UTD' which is a.k.a 'The Russians'. Making their debut in this season X-league, the Russians are grouped in the same division alongside with the bees.With 4 points out of a possible 6, confidence level are high in the bees' camp. Not to forget, the venue for this weekend's match will be held at Coral Sec Sch. The bees have an impressive record playing there losing only one match thus far.
This writer managed to catch up with the captain (GX Chue) of the bees during a closed door interview held in the Eastern part of Singapore. When asked about how he will prepare his team for this weekend clash without the likes of star striker Xu Rong'an due to work committment, he feels that it would definitely be a major loss without Rong'an but he's also confident that the boys will be fired up to give a good account of themselves, especially playing against an old rival. He too added that the boys wouldn't underestimate their opponents although the bees are sitting comfortably on the top half of the table. Chue even told this writer that he already had a plan to wear out the Russians as he believe that their fitness is suspect. On a final note, Chue's main objective for this weekend's match will be to secure all 3points.
