Match Preview: Budak Ponduk

Match Preview against Budak Ponduk next weekend

The last match against Budak Ponduk ended in 3:3 draw with Alfin Ramdam and Muhd Aidil scoring on the opposite side. Maestro had Rong An, Gerald and Hakim the scorer. The last minute goal of Hakim was the best goal of the season so far with a shot flying from the edge of penalty box, the goal seems to dishearten their spirit for a win. Close call for Maestro in earning a draw.
The match was there to be won, with a disallowed goal from Rong An indirect free kick converted without understanding the nature of the free kick.

Summary of the previous match:
Played under the rain in Queenstown secondary. Ponduk players were fast, making much problems in Maestro in defence. The centre backs are extremely good against high balls, clearing every one at ease. The wingers of the team are skillful, and right winger is fast and his trickery won him a penalty the last time out. Right-winger seems like the soul of the team with much long ball sprayed towards him.
The strength of the team - Skillful centre midfielders in controlling the ball and spraying of long balls towards wings.
The noticable weakness of the opposition is the goalkeeper - Poor flexiblity due to his sheer size and confidence in handling.
The seemingly weakness to exploit is the right/left backs - Slow in reading the game.

Based on the analysis, closing down of centre midfielders are crucial. Long balls are their main tactic, thus pulling back the defense tackling long balls would be a preferred choice. Midfielders controlling midfield for Maestro and Stikers penetrating the middle would find himself a hard time.

Ponduk is the only team that is much within reach for a win. Currently, bet365 and asian bookie is giving an odds of 1/4 to Maestro. Maestro win = 2.20 and Pundak win = 2.5, a draw = 3.3. Based on statistics, Maestro would have a bigger chance to win.

The opponents are on top of Maestro in terms of X-league position. However, they are on the same points with higher goal difference.
