Final Score: MFC Gold 6 : 3 MFC Blue
To take a break from the league matches, MFC decided to play a friendly among ourselves. The only thing friendly about the match was the title as both team wanted to win the game! It was a good run out for all the players as usually everyone only gets to play half or 3/4 of a league game. Today, almost everyone got to enjoy the full match and though tiring, it was a fun game.
The first half was more of a walkover as MFC Gold really strutted their stuff, with good goals from Alex, Guo Xian and Gifford. MFC Blue had a good goal of their own when Kevin caught Chris Lau off position with a good long range shot. One player who shone in MFC Gold was newcomer Hakim who was playing as a controlling midfielder. His range of passing, ball control and vision was excellent as he helped maintain midfield possession for MFC Gold.
To even things up in the second half, Guo Xian and Norris was transferred to MFC Blue and that gave the team more confidence as the game play opened up. The second half was more of an equal affair though MFC Blue did seem to have a slight edge over MFC Gold. Though MFC Blue missed numerous chances, they scored 2 more goals in the second half courtesy of Howard and newcomer David.
The last goal of the game was scored by MFC Gold's "Diaby" as he sped onto a loose ball and put the ball beyond the keeper. It ended 6:3 but overall, everyone was a winner as it was a good run out for all the players and also, a good match for the newcomers, Diaby, Hakim and David.
For Alan who will be returning to Aussieland soon, he will be missed for his marauding runs down the flanks and good crosses. It is also no coincedence that he had a big part to play in MFC's recent fine form in the league. To Alan, on behalf of MFC, wishing you all the best in your studies and we will look forward to your return!
