Final Score: Bronx FC 6 : 1 MFC (Chris Tan 1)
Maestro FC did not open the winning gates for the first match of the year against Bronx FC at the Bukit Timah Field, eventually losing 1-6 to the current league leader. Maestro FC will need to reclaim their position in the league after a 3-1-2 (Win-Draw-Lose) campaign so far.
A total of 14 players were presence for captain Eric’s delegation and Maestro FC started with Cross in goalkeeper, Howard, Wee Hian, Hairul and Norris in defence, Alan, Alex, Chris Tan, Han Rong, and Jason in midfield and Guo Xian as the lone striker. Glifford, Silas and Eric were keeping bay at the side of the pitch.
The match began on a bright note for Maestro FC after Chris Tan converted a goal after an earlier scramble from a corner kick. It did not take too long for Bronx FC to equalise. Soon, it became a stroll in the park for the opponents as Maestro FC was eventually outplayed in the middle of the field. Maestro FC was lucky to escape deficit at half time, down 1-2.
The next half belonged to Bronx FC as four goals were drained in. No one had the answer to the tight game that Bronx FC had utilized against Maestro FC. Maestro FC only had their chances through free kicks. Maestro FC became easily frustrated and failed to lift their spirits till the end of the game.
Captain Eric spoke to the team after the match and stated that there could be a break for Maestro FC to recover the tired bodies. But if ever a challenge comes ahead, the team will need to be on their top gear to overcome. Maestro FC will also hope to forget this poor performance and bounce back on a high!
