Clinical Finishing determined the path to victory

Spata Cowboys 1 : 6 Maestro FC (Rong An x3, Jeremy x1, Augustine x2)
Review by Alwyin

The game started off with the opponents having only 7 players on their side. However we did not manage to tap on this advantage at the start of the game. Only after 20 minutes where we were more settled down did we get in control of the game. The first goal was provided by our top scorer Rong An.  A wonderful bicycle kick was executed from a throw in and the ball was blasted into the top left net of the opponent goal. Some dispute came up as the referee blew for a goal kick. But after some explanation on the obvious goal, the goal was given to us. The second goal was assisted by Hakim and finished by Rong An after a splendid through pass break through the last defence of the opponent providing Rong  An with the chance to finish off the keeper. The opponents slowly have around 10 players up in the field from the initial 7. This time, they captivate on our flangs and with their fast wingers, they cross a goal into the middle and finished off by the strikers. A few minutes after, the half time whistle blew.

Second half was games mostly dominated by Maestro. Although the opponents have a few chances but we manage to cut them off successfully. The fourth goal was a splendid free kick by Rong An almost near the middle of the field. No doubts about his “ Tan Jia” move. With the confidence in our team building up after the goal, Jeffery, our never give up warrior went with the ball into the defense and trigger a ball beautifully into the net.  August our left winger was also thirsty for the ball all these while. After the keeper punch out the ball from the shot by Jeffery, he ran in to finish off the goal with a tap into the corner of the net. Lastly, to end off our victory, August after shaking off the opponents was free on the left and he manages to get his foot on the running ball. With his last breath, he blasted it into the net of the opponent. The keeper do not even have a chance to save the ball. Overall, maestro had a fantastic game today and we manage to make full use of all the chances that we have. All the way to go Maestro!

Good points:
  •  Many shots on target. Tough defence by Spata but Maestro showed resilience in finishing off the goals.
  • Rong An superb bicyle kick - best goal in the whole season of X league
  • Good defence - limited only 1 shot on target for opposition
Bad points:
  • Complacent? We played much worst when Sparta down with only 7 men on the field
  • Communication breakdown. Can improve relationship building.
  • Rough Play by opposition.
