Malay Green Team 2 : 0 Maestro FC
Desperate calls for a backup keeper came in vain. The team had to assign a last minute player cum Goalkeeper: Chris Tan. He might not be the best around, but definitely enough to suit the team needs. The team had limited number of players, with many last minute call-off. We had inclusion of players (friends of Eric and WeeHian) as substitues. However, their skills were definitely in the first-ter zone.
The match started late with the referee needed to chase after the World Westling Federation Stone Cold and Yukozuna for the match-fixing. The punctuality of the opposition was also a concern; arriving late after a local committee malay wedding nearby.
First half started with nerves from Chris. Learning to adapt the goalkicking, and pressure of the incoming shots. But to be honest, he was quite pleased with his performance, saving quite a few shots from outside the box. There were instances that the opposition tested the keeper. He also did a splendid save to punch the ball away over the bar. However, the opposition soon found his novice weakness, by a set-piece goal. The ball flew into the box, when the opposition striker shaked off Eric, to round up the goal at the corner of the net.
The firepower was seen in the attacks during the partnership of GX and Norris up front. However, GX had to rush for the NFL referee match. Jeffery was sent in to substitue the away striker. Jeffery almost scored a goal from a free-kick of Alan. The goal was headed wide at an easy range.
First half ended with 1 - 0 down. Chances of attacks on both sides were rare.
The second half started with Norris as the goalkeeper. He certainly felt proud of his skills. The second half also seen a better defence, with the crowding of 3 midfielders.
The goal came in when Norris seemingly thought that he was the defender when he chased down an incoming ball. The cross came in from the opposition into the box found a striker with an open net.
Final score 2 - 0.
