A new Deal reached!
Before I go into the interesting portion of the review, let’s look at the greats of the match today.
Pia Kia Whites was a team of experience veterans, much known for its jersey-less presentation. Physically, they were tough with many dirty plays involved. Technically, their through-passes from the midfielders formulae very well to their strikers.
Today team involved Norris and Alan as full-backs, Howard and Kartik on the side defending. Harkim, Gerald, and Alex carried the weight of the driving force of RongAn, Augustine, Abi attacks.
The domination of soccer was on Maestro side with occasional scares by Whites. Luckily, the poles were guarded by one-of-the-best keepers in the league, Gary. The loud shouting of “MINE!” simply meant he was in charge of the game.
Maestro drew first blood when lovely run down the flank by Augustine. He gave a lovely cross for RongAn who was caught free on the other end of the goal posts. With only the poles to beat, his header proved clinical. First goal for the club that I could remember that was scored by his head.
Great work by today’s midfielders, there was always closing the door effect which cut away their attacks. There was not much actions involved on both sides at the goal-line.
The second half, actions were even more rare for both sides. Rong An injury was certainly a scare when he hurt his ankle badly.
A fight almost broke out when players scrambled in for a foul by the opposition. Rong An ran in from the spectators stand which might seems like a revenge was rampant. A cool down was necessary when the referee gave a red card, and blew the final whistle after the free kick taken.
Great win by Maestro. Even its only 1 goal, it was still a win.
INTERESTING PORTION.
A deal had been reached between the bubble tea (BBT) lady and Maestro. Maestro had found a sponsorship, with their logo attached to the front of the jersey; free drinks would be provided by the lady before the match begin. The business was discussed after the match when I proposed a sponsorship deal with the BBT lady. The deal was finalised when GX agreed to design the logo for approval. Bubble $1++ Tea would be our next sponsor for at least a season (Timeline to be confirmed). We should be looking forward on free drinks at Katong field in the future.
Good Points
· Win-Win situation for the sponsorship deal
· Great work by Gary today as keeper, Man of the match award winner decided by GX.
· Superb finishing by Rong An. Even more excellent cross by Augustine.
· Keeping cool at times of exhaustion
· Great defending today; Clean sheet.
Bad points
· Sparks of fights almost broke out
· Dirty plays by opposition might cause injury on a friendly game
