12/06/2011 MFC vs. Alex's Client's Team Match Review

Match Review by Chris Tan
Alex Client’s Team 3 : 0 MFC
Venue: Katong Field

Great Fight to the end:

Alex Client’s team is an experienced team consisting of much older generation of players. However, they are not a team to be trifle with. Physically, they are much tougher, much faster than much of Maestro players. To illustrate to those that are not around today, they are about Big Eric size with tougher and agility plays. Maestro proves to be in no match against the giants.
The team today have a poor attendance; many experienced players are not on sight, leaving Chris being the central defender second match in a row. The only fast pace players that GX can use is only Abi and Norris, which he put them at the wings and striker role.

Alex Client’s Team draw first blood as a through ball not picked up, left one on one position available to the “HK famous singer of the Grasshopper” and the keeper. The player might have been lucky, as he was not caught in an offside position.

Throughout the match, Chris cannot stand one of the Gay voice of the opposition; called WenBin, pacy left-back whom is superb in skills. However, God is fair though, simply irritating voice, like selling durians off the Geylang streets. (Sorry, have to mention this, a little insulting, take it as a joke then) Luckily, Maestro kept their cool and not to fight with him.

The second goal was a superb cross picked up by a header outside range of defenders. The ball might be slow down by the header, but the accuracy found its net. It was a good goal.
Norris missed a glorious chance with a half-fu*k left footed shot during his one-on-one with the keeper. Not the best that Maestro has seen so far from Norris, who finishing is much stronger than that.

Second half, actions were rare for both sides, Maestro had much chances as compared to the first. But they were not converted. Alex Client team managed to score one goal, which lobang the keeper during the strike. Not very good coverage by the defenders though to prevent the strikes.

Question: Did Maestro play a bad game. Not really. Maestro tried their best, strings of passes start to emerge. Communication between midfielders seem to be working well. The goals conceded only suggest that the opposition are much lethal in goal poaching than Maestro. They are good, we lost in skills and experience.

All these experience gathered today will be put to test next Saturday, which Maestro will face Chris’s inexperience army team which only formed recently, purpose is to host gathering and keep the social network. Due to the limited number of players in the team available, Chris would be playing for them. Keep your Saturday free and informed your girlfriends that you would be attending the soccer session.

Good Points
• Good communication between players
• Abi and Norris run like hell today so as Gerald and Jon. They deserve a clap.
• Maestro learned to be tougher through today’s match
• Good strings of passing in midfield today
• Good fighting spirit and fairplay by Maestro

Bad points
• Irritating opposition player?
• The long passes seems to focus on left-flank, a switch side tactic should be advisable.
• Strength of squad is a concern
• Physical teams rather than pacy team seem to be more of a problem for Maestro
