Final Score: Todak FC 3 : 3 MFC (GX 1, JON 1, On Loan player Sylvester 1)
9 MFCians and friends along with 3 other loaned players from Todak FC made up the team on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Norris took up the goalkeeper role with Guoxian and Wee Hian as CB, left was taken up by Jan (Abi’s Czech neighbor) and RB was taken by Walter. Jason, Abi and 3 other Todak players, Levis, Sylvester and Alan played deep in the midfield positions with Jeremy Song playing as the lone striker.
Despite such hot and humid conditions, the MFC defence managed to soak up the early pressure from the Sabah team on various occasions till a long range effort the opponents took Norris by surprise to make it 1-0. A tactical swap between Jeremy and Guo Xian, saw the latter score within 3 mins after the swap to make it 1-1.
However, Todak managed to pull one back shortly after Guo Xian’s goal. Their 2nd goal came courtesy of a near range shot which was actually “intended” by Norris to clear with his hands, but he ended up using his legs.:>
In the 2nd half, Jonathan came to replace Alan and he did make several good runs down the right flank with Jason also in superb form, intercepting many balls. Norris played up front alone and also did create a lot of good passes which saw one of them well collected by Sylvester who scored a brilliant goal from the right flank.
Towards the end of the 2nd half, Abi delivered a good cross from a freekick for Jonathan to tap in at close range to make it 3-2 to MFC. Joy for MFCians!
Todak FC then battled back and managed to eventually make it 3-3 in the last few minutes of play.
Overall, it was a great day of fun and a rather relaxing game for enjoyment. Hopefully this friendly allowed MFC to better learn about Todak FC for the next return league game.
